I typically charge a flat rate fee for comprehensive neuropsychological assessments. For grades kindergarten through college, the fee is $8250. For younger children, the fee is $7,000. IQ testing is $800. Consultation services are billed for at an hourly rate of $325-375 depending on your needs. Please contact me for a complimentary phone call to ask questions and learn more about what’s included in each of these services.

While I do not work directly with insurance, I can provide a “superbill” (a receipt coded for insurance purposes) after services are complete, which you can submit to your insurance. I encourage families interested in doing this to call their insurance company ahead to ask what their plan covers and if there are limitations to coverage based on diagnosis. The evaluation might also be considered a taxable medical expense. Some people are also able to utilize their flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account to help cover the cost.

For full assessments, your slot is secured once a non-refundable deposit of $500 is applied to the full fee. The remaining first half of the fee is due on when the assessment begins. The balance is due at the end of the assessment.
For IQ testing, half of the fee is due at the time of scheduling as a non-refundable deposit. The balance is due the morning of the testing.
Consultations are billed for at the time of service. Payments are preferred via Zelle but also accepted through Venmo.
Good Faith Estimate & the No Surprises Act (HR 133):
Under the No Surprises Act(H.R. 133), health care providers need to give clients or patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for services. Click here learn more.

Availability fluctuates depending on the time of year. For comprehensive assessments I can sometimes accommodate a family right away, while at other times a family may need to wait for their appointments. If you are considering a full assessment I encourage you to contact me right away for a complimentary phone call to check on availability and to see if my services are a good fit for your child and family. I am also glad to give referrals to other providers if I’m booked out further in advance that would work for you. IQ testing is typically much easier to schedule.
-
The length of the process depends somewhat on how your schedule blends with mine and also how far apart you would like to schedule your child’s appointments with me. But generally speaking a full assessment takes 4-6 weeks to complete. IQ testing is completed within a single day.

It is important for clients to attend testing sessions feeling healthy, well-rested, and well-nourished. You can expect to come in for a few minutes during my first meeting with your child to help them get settled. I have a waiting area for you and several great coffee shops nearby both of my offices where you can wait while testing takes place. I encourage your child to have snacks, water and to dress in layers for their meetings with me. They can also bring a special toy, book or other simple activity for breaks. Many parents find it helpful to plan a small, fun "celebration" or reward after the session to acknowledge their child's hard work and effort.
-
This is an important question that doesn’t have a one size fits all answer. For full evaluations we will think together in the initial parent meeting about how to best prepare your child for their meetings with me. For IQ testing, I encourage downplaying the notion of a 'test.' Instead, tell your child they will be meeting with an expert who helps kids figure out how their brains work. You can let them know they will do puzzles and answer some interesting questions and that their job isn’t to know all the answers but just to do their best.

There are a lot of different kinds of assessments and different types of professionals providing evaluations. Understandably, this causes a lot of confusion for the consumer! In short, a neuropsychological assessment provides an integrated and comprehensive understanding of your child's thinking, learning, and social-emotional functioning in a way that other assessments aren’t geared to do. I would be glad to speak with you about your situation and will be honest with you about what service would likely be the best fit for your child.
-
In most cases families need a full assessment in order to answer their questions and access services. Screenings also risk missing crucial pieces of information because they don’t assess all areas of functioning but I would be glad to consider with you if a screening or full evaluation is most appropriate for your child.
-
I am not currently providing IEE’s but would be glad to refer you to other providers who do.
-
When an assessment clearly shows neurodivergence that is impacting a child’s functioning I will recommend accommodations for the child. The ultimate decision around who qualifies and what one qualifies for ultimately lies with school and the test administrators.
-
All comprehensive assessments include personalized, practical, evidence-based recommendations for home, school, and outside providers (when relevant) that are tailored to your child and their specific needs.
-
Yes, with parental permission I regularly attend school meetings to communicate my findings. Private schools often request this and in the public arena, neuropsychologists (sometimes in conjunction with educational lawyers/advocates who are experts in navigating educational law/code) will attend IEP meetings to support the parent in their efforts to receive the most effective services for their child.
-
It is my goal to answer your questions and provide you with referrals to the appropriate professionals through the assessment process but in some cases families continue to work with me on a consultation basis after the assessment is complete for extra support.
